Cambodia had
went through lots of civil wars during the last
few decades, therefore, the flags had been changed
from one regime to the next.

On 30 June 1993
the old 1948-1970 flag has been reestablished as
the flag of Cambodia. |

I'm not quite sure
about this yet. But from what I remember, the same
1989-1992 flag still in used. But there is another
flag below which also had been introduced in some
occasions. |

Cambodia was under
the UN administration (UNTAC = United Nations Transitional
Authority in Cambodia) from February 1992 to September
1993. The mandate included aspects relating to
human rights, the organization and conduct of elections,
military arrangements, civil administration, maintenance
of law and order, repatriation and resettlement
of refugees and displaced persons and rehabilitation
of Cambodian infrastructure. |

On May 1st, 1989
a new flag was introduced. At the same time, the
name of the country has altered from "People's
Republic of Kampucha" to "State of Cambodia". |

In January 1979,
Khmer Rouge was disposed by Heng Samrin's forces
and in help of Vietnamese troops. The flag was
used until 1989 in the country, but was not recognized
by the UN and international. |

In January 1976
the "Democratic Kampuchea" has introduced
a new flag. This flag was used until January 1979,
when the Khmer Rouge government was deposed. However,
it continued to be in use in abroad, and also at
UN headquarters, until 1991. |

On 9 October 1970,
Lon Nol has introduced a new flag after overthrew
King Norodom Sihanouk in 1970. This flag was used
until April 1975. |
